So here I am...a mere two weeks from my departure on the 25th of March. I will head to T-Bay to meet my crew and finish last minute preparations (PREPARE.....AVANT!). From there we depart by Suburban on the 28th.

I went to MEC on Saturday and after spending a ridiculous amount of money...I have all the major equipment needs fulfilled. All I have to do now is keep working out (which has fizzled slightly but is still happening) and learn how to fall asleep at night as the excitement builds.

Until I'm tired and sore from paddling,

Andy

So, here we are...a mere couple of months before we hit the water out West. As each day passes, I get a little more excited as the realization of this undertaking hits me. I just started my training regime and I am optimistic. I have had my battles with working out in the past, but usually those battles are short lived...never beyond a week or so. Beyond getting myself into some better shape, the motivation that will drive me is one simple fact: If I don't work out, I will be very, very, very, very sore come trip time! SO Tuesday, along with nearly every other day of the week...has, in the words of Ron Burgundy, "is arms and back." This will continue until I'm ready to go.
Aside from getting buff, it would appear that fundraising efforts are going well, but we still have a long way to go. There is little that I am able to do from London, On where I currently reside, however I plan on designing some educational lessons and units we can teach to kids along the way, as well as use my immense energy to provide constant moral support!
This blog will be my primary way of connecting with friends and family while on the water, where they can read my thoughts and experience my triumphs and hardships that I'm sure this path will bring us.

Until my paddle graces the water,

Andy
